People can hate Chuck (or even Ed) all they want, but every time there's a post about him either with Nate or Blair it gets like, 10 times the number of posts of other threads. You may hate him, but you can't deny that without him there would be a lot less to talk about!! I'm a Chair fan but disagree that it was improper to have Nate stand up to Chuck. Go back to the van der Bilt reunion. His first instinct is to leave, and then playing football he gets steamrolled and whines to his Grandfather how unfair it is. But William gives him a wake-up call, essentially telling him to "grow a pair" - which he does, and proceeds to plow Tripp into the ground, set Blair right, and make his first 'political' speech to accept the summer internship. This sets the stage for Blair to see him as a lifeboat on her stormy seas, but also for him to realize he and Vanessa want different things. (Though there's no excusing his breakup with V - ignoring her for a week and dumping her in public? Uncool.)

I totally agree with Eves. I know im just annoyed with the people bashing Ed, but i have to say this:
The Nair fans are just getting annoyed and angry because its now CONFIRMED that the season finale will be Chair.
So everyone nair/chair/dair or whatevr ur shipping lay off the actors! It's called ACTING.

Nate is such a loser and doesn't stand a chance! It's offensive that the writers made him stand up to Chuck, suddenly, so inconsistent with "clueless" Nate's character.
Chuck Bass doesn't need advice from Nate!
And for the pathetic little souls who say nasty things about Ed: good way to "support" your Nair-utopia guys, by bashing at the actor, really ..... classy!

Nate isn't good for Blair. And neither is Chuck.
Nate is just INSTABLE.She loves one girl for week, and when he wants dump her,he just imagines some reason that blame the girl. Now he is like "I want her!",and,I bet,in the end of the season,he'll run after Serena,Vanessa,or both...OR little J...Who knows?
And Chuck made her suffer a lot.Right,he has to mature,he lost his mother, his father didn't care about him...But she's not the blame for all this! For God's sake!Well,if Blair could hear me,I would say:"Live alone and enjoy your money, girl,is the best you can do for now."
[Sorry 4 the bad english.correct me if I made some mistake]

I really hope that Chuck defends himself and says something back instead of it being all silent and thoughtful and then black out and go to commercial.

haha all of Nate's breakup's are terrible. except the first blair nate break up in season one -- that actually had like substance to it. all of the other ones were just like oh ok bye. I think the writers have done a horrible job with that. You really don't even see Nate unless he's with a girl.

i see your point, toofast, but i also think that not every show has to follow the 'friends' ross & rachel formula. there are also a lot of people (like me) who got bored pretty quickly of that will they/won't they back and forth. these characters are witty and well written, there is no real reason they can't be together as a couple and still engaging to watch. they did it with pam and jim on the office and on himym marshall and lily are married and still really fun and funny to watch interact. i would like to see more shows leave behind the ross/rachel formula and write interesting stuff for stable committed couples without having to insert contrived drama. i just want the nate and blair story to have a nice resolution and not some weird rushed breakup like with nate and vanessa (that was so terrible).

They haven't let us believe that Nate and Blair love with eachother type of thing. I feel like it's all too predictable. Kinda like Ross and Rachel on friends. Ross gets married -- and you think its over. But then he say's Rachel's name at the alter and we were all like "I KNEW IT." So I dunno -- I need to see Blair be with Nate for a longer time... see her love him...see him love her.. and THEN see if the end game in her heart is really Chuck. Cause otherwise -- Chuck isn't really the endgame. He is the guy on her mind for right now. If they get together now -- you CANNOT except them to be togteher for the rest of gossip girl....
