Shonda Rhimes: Derek Loves Meredith!

at . Comments

After Shonda Rhimes and TV Guide's Michael Ausiello exchanged words about the critic's review of Private Practice, the producer of both shows gave him some hot scoop concerning the Grey's Anatomy embattled supercouple.

If you don't mind Grey's Anatomy spoilers, follow the jump to read her comments on Meredith and Derek, as well as another couple we know ...

"I want to be clear that Derek loves Meredith," Shonda Rhimes said, as if to put the debate over Lexie Grey to rest once and for all. "Derek loves Meredith more than anything. I can't imagine Derek going anyplace else other than Meredith."

And as if to butter up the TV Guide sleuth even more, the Grey's Anatomy creator and executive producer handed him the biggest gift a Grey's Anatomy fan could ask for (at least in his opinion): a death certificate with O'Mizzie's name.

Oh, O'Mizzie

"A lot of people aren't sold on Izzie and George," Rhimes acknowledged. "I think the mistake that everyone makes is that we are telling you Izzie and George are the love story of the century; they're not the love story of the century. When other people find out about Izzie and George ... remember, people don't know about them yet â€" other people might think that's not a good idea either."

Lastly, on the red carpet, James Pickens Jr. teased that there will be some drama surrounding Richard's living situation (i.e., you won't believe who's moving in next door)! Interesting! Comments?

I don't think Izzie even knows what love is. Have you not read the title of the second episode? Love Addiction. It is a real disorder. One I strongly suspect the lovely Isobel Stevens posseses. She confuses physical with emotional. I honestly do not believe for one moment that George and Izzie belong together as anything but friends. If they had started this relationship back in season one or early season two I would have rolled my eyes and gone yippee another cliche romance that bloomed from friendship. However, when faced with a death like scenario George wasn't the one Izzie ran after for sex. It was Alex. Which brings up a second point of mine: If you are all such big fans of George why would you want him with Izzie? She treats him like a child. She doesn't really look at him as a man but as a possession that is her's to control. George deserves much better. I don't necessarily think that is Callie at this point. Maybe in the future, maybe not. I wouldn't mind seeing him paired up with Meredith's sister Lexie. Which could be a possibilty. On Lexie I would like to see her with Alex, Mark, or George. I say Alex because she would keep him from Ferry Freak (Jane Doe/Ava/Rebecca) who has some serious narcissistic traits.

Bravo, Alexandra! Your post makes so much sense! I agree with everything you said! I only wish I had seen the chemistry between George and Izzie sooner!

George and Izzie love each other, it is obvious, and they should follow their hearts and be together. I feel sorry for Callie but she deserves a guy who loves her. Sometimes, some marriages are just wrong, and that is what divorces are from. George and Izzie also have a million times more chemistry than George and Callie. And for the person who said Callie is not pretty, shame on you, Callie is gorgeous! I love her, just not with George.

George and Izzie are the ONLY GOOD thing that happened in season three. Their chemistry just leaps off the screen. I was so thrilled after seeing the Grey video and they had two-near George and Izzie kisses and they were all over that video, they had more scenes than Meredith and Derek, LOL. I have no diea how someone cannot see the sexual chemistry those two have. In that scene in the video where Izzie gets into George's face and they seem close to kissing and then she leaves, you can tell just how much George wanted to kiss her. His whole face is longing, that is so hot. And then in that scene where she elans in to kiss him and they are smiling. Izzie never smiled like that at anyone, not even Denny. The only other time I have seen such a radiantly happy smile from ehr was when she and George made love, just pure and total happiness and complete love. And George is smiling at her big time. I couldn't calm down for hours after that, that is how much I love them

You agree with everyone on Gizzie? This is funny as about half the messages here are pro-George and Izzie, LOL, and wanting them to continue. Or do you just read the posts that say the same thing as you? This sounds to be the MO of the haters, be blind to everything that does not please them. Maddie or whatever your name is, are you implying Gizzie fans are stay at home moms with nothing else to do with their times? Boy, you are patronizing, are you? Stay-at-home moms work harder than pretty much everyone. But, for the record, I am a French and English teacher, have a doctorate and have been teaching for 25 years. I also do not condone adultery in REAL life, but on a TV show, I want the couple with the best chemistry to win out, and that is not George and Callie. I don't hate Callie at all. In fact, I was talking with other George and Izzie fans eysterday and we were saying how sorry we felt for Callie as she always loved George more than he loved her. I don't know how any Callie fans can want her in a marriage with someone whose heart belongs to someone else. That is the worst thing that could happen to someone, and this marriage was a mistake from the start. Izzie did not ruin it, it was always ruined. Was watching my season 3 DVD and Sandra Oh was doing the comments on the Desire episode and commented how fabulous TR and atie were together and she said that when she saw their love scene, she gasped out Wow! So obviously she ahs good taste and is able to see chemistry They have loads of it, more than anyone on this show

I am sorry but you Gizzie haters are seriously insulting and rude. I cannot believe you are abshing a group of fans because we happen to love a fictional couple. So we have no values because we love them? So the Meredith and Derek fans must have no values either as they started off as an affair as well. Derek lied to Meredith about being married, and then when Meredith found out, she begged Derek to dump his wife and pick me, choose me in one of the most pathetic, disgusting speech ever. And then they ahd disgusting sex at the prom with Addison very close by. George and Izzie were at least drunk when it happened. All the couples on this show are based on affairs, so by your warped logic, noone should love them. I have a bigger problem with people who root for two actors committed to someone else to have an affair in real life, like the Dempeo fans who keep bashing Patrick's wife and the mother of his kids and wanting Patrick to have a hot steamy affair with Ellen behind her back. And we are the immoral ones? ROFLMAO. Also, many studies have been published saying people in mourning do move on pretty fast, usually in the year after the death of the eprson they love. This is a documented fact. Many widows of soldiers have remarried pretty quickly after their husband's death. It is a normal thing and does not mean you didn't love your partner. Implying so is ignorance and insulting to all the people who this happened to. I think you have to be blind to not see that this was coming, I saw it all the way back to when enny was alive. Izzie was always way too jealous of Callie and way too into everything George did. And he was way too jealous of Alex. I saw chemistry back to the I need some sex George scene, the way they were smiling at each other and their heads were so close, I thought they were about to kiss. TR and Katie have amazing chemistry and always did,.

I hope the spoiler is right too, and I totally agree with everyone on the George and Izzie thing. It seriously has to stop, I don't care if its old people or young people that like it, it has to stop. When did George go from this 007, Meredith lovin, no game whatsoever, mom ironing your scrubs nerd to the man that too woman are fighting over? Give me a break, I've never had a problem with George but I haven't been his biggest fan either. I miss Burke.

NE = National Enquirer, right?
I hope that spoiler is right, but, you know, they are always right with the bad spoilers but not with the good ones, and this is a good one

What is the link to the spoiler?

OMG!!!! CHECK OUT THIS SPOILER!! SOURCE IS NE. One big surprise unfolded off camera when a skunk wandered onto the set while Dr. McDreamy was popping the question to Meredith Grey played by Patrick Dempsey and Ellen Pompeo, according to the ABC insider. "Derek Shepherd was telling Meredith: 'I want to grow old with you...I want to spend the next 108 winters with you,' when a production assistant noticed the skunk," the source said.

Grey's Anatomy Quotes

Did you say it? 'I love you. I don't ever want to live without you. You changed my life.' Did you say it? Make a plan. Set a goal. Work toward it, but every now and then, look around; Drink it in 'cause this is it. It might all be gone tomorrow."

Meredith (closing voiceover)

There's a reason I said I'd be happy alone. It wasn't 'cause I thought I'd be happy alone. It was because I thought if I loved someone and then it fell apart, I might not make it. It's easier to be alone, because what if you learn that you need love and you don't have it? What if you like it and lean on it? What if you shape your life around it and then it falls apart? Can you even survive that kind of pain? Losing love is like organ damage. It's like dying. The only difference is death ends. This? It could go on forever.
