I will miss Burke and I think Isaiah Washington is a fine actor- however, I think people have to understand that his interview was obviously self-serving. I bet if he hadn't done what he did at the Golden Globes (grabbing the mike from Shonda and using the word "faggot" in front of a room full of reporters) he probably would still have a job, IN SPITE of the dust-up with PD and using the word in whatever the original context was. ABC was playing it cool, TR Knight was playing it cool (he didn't talk about the incident until AFTER the Golden Globes.) The person who started it up again was IW.

I'm sad to see Burke go, I'm sure Shonda and ABC are sad to see the character go but I understand why they did it.

First, people are saying over and over that his story doesn't match what was said in other interviews, but it does in fact match what KH said on the Ellen show (before TR went there), so I do believe this story.

Second, I don't think that using "the word" when not directed at anyone or just to deny having used it is bad... It's an hypocrisy to say "ohh, the F word" when everyone knows what the means, it's implied, and it's socially acceptable.

But he apologized. He did the damn meetings, he blamed himself and only mentioned others to explain the reasons he might have snapped off. I know gay people that weren't either insulted or in any way affected with what was said... Everyone said that the media blew this thing out of proportion. And even Larry King, who usually won't let people get away with anything, believed him.

It's obvious he won't come back to the show, and I think it is a pity. It was a great character. But for some reason lead actors are rarely black in big series,

He's telling what happened, and as E! reported he didn't say she was late, only that PD wanted to wait for her, that didn't been she was late. Is was about PD constant tardiness.

Hiya Vicky, EP stands for Ellen Pompeo.

  7. vicky

    what's ep stand for?

  8. Tam

He's bringing EP into this now too, good lord man shut up!

McYummyMyTummy you should look on youtube and type in "Larry King" or "Isaiah Washington" and you should be able to find it.

    Hope that helps.

Maybe my question was overshadowed by anger and dispute, but I am still wondering if there's a place on the internet where I can view the interview??????????

Get a grip and jh just said what's been on my mind all this time.

I am afraid, however, I am still not ready to move on! I will miss Burke, in fact I already do and I just want Isaiah Washington back on the show. It is just sad that the papers and their readers (I for my part wish I had never read or heard about the entire thing! things probably/certainly would have been different if this never leaked to the press or people wouldn't have paid attention.) couldn't focus on Isaiah's and everyone else's acting skills. That's what their job is or at least should be about. This cast has done such a wonderful job in shooting this show and this is what everyone is talking about after 3 seasons. It's just incredibly sad. It shouldn't have come this far.

As for Shonda, she made me fall in love with these characters, so she will have to do hell of a job to console me. I am just so sad about this. Seriously, I am so sick of the crashing and burning!!!

  12. BM

I think it is too bad to lose such a great character of the show. I think everything went very badly for Isaiah, and he is sorry. He is too good of a character on the show to lose him. He is by far my favorite on the show. I am not sure I will watch, once they write him off. We all lose from this.

  13. MJ

Well of course he wants to move on, we now know the extent of his involvement. People have been saying move on since the whole thing started, but yet no one was listening then. Now that IW has been let go and he wants to finally tell what really happened, now everyone (the ones who have gotten what they want), are ready to move on. If everyone was acting like adults, then this would have been over when IW and PD made up in Oct.

And ABC could put this to rest simply by commenting and saying his story isn't true. Even Larry King tried to reach several people about IW's story, and they wouldn't comment. I think Larry King believes what IW is saying.

  14. SSuzanne - New York City

Maybe the reason Patrick Dempsey isn't commenting is that he is concentrating on the much more important issue of taking care of his newborn sons, along with the rest of his family while making a movie at the same time. According to the TWoP forums, he did make a very dignified comment to the press and then indicated he wanted to move on. Seems that he's acting like a true adult here.

  15. MJ

I just read a few post, and it's obvious that once again, some people are commenting that haven't even seen the interview.

  16. MJ

How is he blaming anyone. He's tell what happened, and exactly what happened. TR told his side and he didn't have a side to tell because he wasn't even there, yet people had no problem believing him, and he only did it for personal reasons and personal gain. The only reason people are disagreeing with this is becasue PD is more involved them people want to believe or wanted to know. The bottom line is that this all started with PD, and that's what people don't want to believe. This is the reason why ABC allowed TR and KH to freely speak even though they put a gag order on IW - - to protect PD from the bad press, their leading man. All ABC has to do is say IW's story isn't true, but all they can do is stoop to name calling -- "McBlamey). How immature and stupid is that. ABC is as ruthless as they come. I can understand younger people not understanding what's going on, but older people know his story makes more sense than anything we've heard since this happened. People kept say

I just read my friend's comment on here and I didn't think she was going to be that rude.

So to Calliope, first off I am not rude. And to mcdreamylove1, why would I say something that stupid?!?(So much crap is flying around about who said what and what happened that I've chosen to stop commenting on this story because I don't know what to believe anymore). So for the recorder I had my friends over at the time of the interview and when I clicked on her to read what others thought my friend wanted to make a comment because she was pissed so I told her that she could use my email address and my user name because it automically pops up on my computer and she wouldn't have to sign up just to make one comment.
I have actually said in the past on other message boards really nice things about Patrick and T.R so why would I all of a sudden decided to say something as dumb as that?

I personally am sick and tried of hearing about this and to be this is an unfortunate thing. Almost everyo

at first i was one of the people who were outraged by the firing of Isaiah, i was so angry that i blamed i even blamed our beloved creator of Grey's. but now he is becoming the equivalent of paris hilton for me. she is talked about WAAYY too much, and although isaiah is actually an excellent actor and such and such i'm just getting bored with all of this talk.

i now realize we can't turn back the firing of isaiah so why can't we just GET OVER THIS. booooring. NEXT. seriously.

  19. Franny.

He should really stop trying to convince the world that he's the good guy and start focusing on getting a new job. What is he trying to achieve by blaming everyone else? No one wants to comment because that will just give Isaiah more attention; which he apparently craves. Instead of digging a deeper hole, I hope Isaiah will just pull out and move on.

  20. cadiex

I saw the interview love IW wish he was going to be back on the show. I always love Sandra Oh and proves how much class she has. So much drama on this show I believe there will continue to be drama and am not sure if I have the stomach to watch the show I own season 1 and 2 and don't think I'm going to buy season 3. Even Bruce Willis stepped in and said it seemed to be a little excessive firing him. He sounds like he is busy and is certainly working so I believe he will rebound.

  21. Brenda

Seriously? What a bunch of hoopla this interview was. Issiah Washington said things he shouldn't have said, and he refused to take responsibility. I think that he is acting like a small child that did something bad, and trying to blame it on someone else. He should own up to what he said, and make ammends if he has to. He looked arrogant and unapologetic on television. So I say, GOOD RIDDANCE ISSIAH I'll enjoy the show without you on it. It's not like he made the show, he was only a small particle of it, and can't wait for season 4.

  22. eleni_greece

grey's anatomy won't be the same without WI. He was the best!!!

  23. MJ

Of course the media that has crucified IW before hearing both side won't admit their wrong, but my suggestion to them is that they should learn the craft of journalism, but then again what they do can't really be call journalism. I can't believe that the media, especially having some much influence on the public, can be so irresponsble. They weren't even reporting the news, they were making judgement, and didn't even know what really happened. Ted Casablanca (for the liar he is) , Michael Ausiello and others, I'd just like to say that you should be fired since you have no problem calling for someone else's job. People like them, and I should make myself clear unwise I'll be labled a homophobic, judgmental people like them just disgust me. I wish I could post this on their sites, but it would only get deleted.

  24. hey

I do not believe Isaiah Washington's story one bit. It just seemed like he was being told what to say. Isaiah should have never said anything to anybody or this would have never begun. It sounds like he a little conceited and thinks he is the best. I don't think T.R. Knight would go along with all of this if it wasn't true. If I were Patrick Dempsey and IW told me He can act without someone, I would react the same way.

I will deffinatley watch the show, but will not miss IW after this interview.

  25. Amanda

Some of you aren't reading what Isaiah said or are apparently NOT keeping up with the news.
Comment #1: Isaiah not taking responsibility??? EXCUSE ME??? ISAIAH went to counseling. ISAIAH recorded a PSA. ISAIAH did all that, and they fired him. OF COURSE he's speaking out now because ABC screwed HIM!!! He's telling the truth because with the firing, they made him look like an idiot. So I'm on Isaiah's side -- how many people have played the scapegoat for something they didn't do, simply to keep the bosses happy, still to get kicked in the gut??? Sorry, but Isaiah needs to TELL IT. The folks at ABC are cowards, and their ringleader is T.R. Knight, followed by Patrick Demsey. Believe it or not, regardless of race, age, sexual orientation, or gender -- many of us DO support Isaiah because this is an injustice.
Comment #2: Non-existent career??? I think some of you need to do a filmography search on Isaiah Washington. He's the MOST season actor on the show. Firing him was about more than
