Grey's Anatomy Caption Contest XLIV

by at . Comments

The previous week set a record for caption submissions, something we expect the thrilling three-part storyline had a little to do with. But Caption Contest XLIV produced nearly as many replies, which we were thrilled with.

This image, taken from "Some Kind of Miracle," garnered some truly hilarious and thought-provoking captions. It was, as always, a tough decision and there are just too many great ones to list. Ultimately, we had to choose the caption sent in by Delirium-ZerO.

Congratulations to the winner! The winning caption appears beneath the picture. Scroll down the page to read the complete list of responses received over the past week. Good luck this week, and thank you to everyone for participating - and making us the top Grey's Anatomy site on the Web.

Okay, so once upon a time, there was this girl. Her name was Meredith. Well, Meredith was good looking and had what seemed like a good life, until her boyfriend's wife came into town and she almost died from a bomb. Then she got kicked into the water and drowned. But then in her afterlife, she saw this amazingly handsome young man named Denny. He had a good life until his girlfriend killed him....

Denny: Let's just go over it one more time to be sure we got it.
Meredith: *Sigh* Fine! But hurry up, I can't stay here too long, you're the one that said I didn't have a lot of time.
Denny: Go for a walk with Izzy to the dock, push her off, make sure she stays down long enough to get hypothermia, I'll get to see her one last time, then you and your crack team of docs can bring her back.
Meredith: What if she's a better swimmer then me?
Denny: Put rocks in her pockets or something.
Meredith: What if they can't bring her back to life?
Denny: I don't see where you're going with that?

" Denny: "You had a feeling you were going to die last season, but you couldn't predict THIS?!" " Okay, this one was funny too...

"Meredith: Please, let me just trade you George for Doc." Okay, this was the first one, but I love it. I don't think I could think of anything better. This one is hilarious.

Mer: So if I'm here because I didn't fight hard enough, what does that say about you? You didn't just give up did you?

Avatar

No, Meredith, I will not come sit next to you. I'm allergic to Doc! They drove me nuts as a kid, and I'm not too fond of 'em as a dead man.

Denny: "Stop looking at me like that." Mer: "Like what?" Denny: "Like you see McDreamy!"

Grey's Anatomy Quotes

When we say things like "people don't change" it drives scientist crazy because change is literally the only constant in all of science. Energy. Matter. It's always changing, morphing, merging, growing, dying. It's the way people try not to change that's unnatural. The way we cling to what things were instead of letting things be what they are. The way we cling to old memories instead of forming new ones. The way we insist on believing despite every scientific indication that anything in this lifetime is permanent. Change is constant. How we experience change that's up to us. It can feel like death or it can feel like a second chance at life. If we open our fingers, loosen our grips, go with it, it can feel like pure adrenaline. Like at any moment we can have another chance at life. Like at any moment, we can be born all over again.

Meredith

Doesn't matter how tough we are, trauma always leaves a scar. It follows us home, it changes our lives, trauma messes everybody up, but maybe that's the point. All the pain and the fear and the crap. Maybe going through all of that is what keeps us moving forward. It's what pushes us. Maybe we have to get a little messed up, before we can step up.
