The alumni, faculty, and students of University of Southern California have begun the nomination process for honorary degree candidates for the 2007 commencement ceremony. USC is one of the most culturally diverse universities in America and home to its oldest, most reputable cinema school.

The school asserts, “in bestowing an honorary doctoral degree, a university makes an explicit statement to its students and the world about the qualities of character and attainment it admires most.”

Representing these attributes, USC alumna and Grey's Anatomy creator Shonda Rhimes makes an exceptional candidate for a Doctorate in Fine Arts at the University of Southern California for 2007.
