Denny Duquette One of TV's Most Memorable "Obit Players" of 2006

by at . Comments

As the year draws to a close, Michael Slezak of Entertainment Weekly looks back at three of TV's most memorable TV characters... who met their maker in 2006. One of them is none other than our own Denny Duquette, the heart patient and fiancé of Izzie (Katherine Heigl), played so masterfully by Jeffrey Dean Morgan.

Here's his brief obituary
:

Closet millionaire Denny Duquette died during May sweeps from complications following heart transplant surgery at Seattle Grace Hospital. He is survived by a fiancée, Isobel "Izzie" Stevens, a surgical intern who may have contributed to his death prior to attending a prom. (Don't ask.)

More importantly, though, Denny leaves behind a blueprint for how men can look hot and stubbly while stricken and attached to tubes, heart monitors, and even LVAD machines.

We miss you, Denny. We miss you.

Hi Joey, if you click on the underlined words Jeffrey Dean Morgan in the article above it will take you to a very nice picture of our Denny in his new movie (in the fireman suit). It is called Accidental Husband and also stars Colin Firth, whom I loved from Brigitte Jones Diary. It looks like a good movie.

I watched Friday Night Lights for the first time last night. Really good show starring the bomb guy from the episodes End of the World and As We Know It. He is very good in this show. Grey's has had an impressive list of guest stars, haven't they.

I don't think there isn't anybody that wasn't touched by Jeffry when he played Denny. Rumor has it that Izzy and Mark are going to have a relationship let's see because IM not to sure about that one yet. But she was direct with him about respect so if there is anyone who can knock him down a notch or two it's Izzy.

So I didn't know he was in a movie with Uma Thurman until I read Burke Backers comment. Now that I've checked it out, I HAVE TO SEE THAT MOVIE! Jeffery Dean Morgan in a fireman suit?!?! Yummy!

I'm the same way! I was flipping around and caught a glimpse of him when he was flirting with Izzie when he was first administered and then at the end of that episode, he left and I was like "oh no! he has to come back! he's sooo gorgeous!" and several episodes later, HE DID!

Grey's Anatomy Quotes

Did you say it? 'I love you. I don't ever want to live without you. You changed my life.' Did you say it? Make a plan. Set a goal. Work toward it, but every now and then, look around; Drink it in 'cause this is it. It might all be gone tomorrow."

Meredith (closing voiceover)

When we say things like "people don't change" it drives scientist crazy because change is literally the only constant in all of science. Energy. Matter. It's always changing, morphing, merging, growing, dying. It's the way people try not to change that's unnatural. The way we cling to what things were instead of letting things be what they are. The way we cling to old memories instead of forming new ones. The way we insist on believing despite every scientific indication that anything in this lifetime is permanent. Change is constant. How we experience change that's up to us. It can feel like death or it can feel like a second chance at life. If we open our fingers, loosen our grips, go with it, it can feel like pure adrenaline. Like at any moment we can have another chance at life. Like at any moment, we can be born all over again.
