Thank you for your apology. Clay deserves respect for who he is and what he stands for. He is a wonderful man who cares. We seen this 3 years ago. That's why his fans love him so much. There are no words to describe our love for him, we just do.

I was really appreciative of your article! I do not know what you said initially but it seems to have deserved a statement.
Those of us who have folllowed Clay realize what a rare man he is. He of course has a great talent but due to his upbringing he realizes how important it is to make a difference. That is what he has tried to do. It is sad that so many have used his celebrity to bring him down and make fun of him. When all he wants to do is good! It makes a sad mark on our society when a decent man wants to do right and we make fun of him!
I appreciate the article and hope that many others read and recognize him for who he is.
Not an angel but a nice guy with a talent who wants to make a difference. His fans will certainly try and help him succeed in both!
Thank you!

I, too, thank you. Clay does a lot of things right and I applaud him (literally and figuratively). He has a wonderful voice and he's also taught me to use my voice, not to sing, but for speaking up. It's nice to hear you speak up for him. Bravo!

Thanks so much for the wonderful article.
It shows that you really used a "fact checker" and that is rare these days in journalism.
Clay wanted to do something with his celebrity status and he is.
He has a wonderful heart to go along with that golden voice.
Thanks again,

Great article. I kinda wish that the response to "don't be so mean to Clay Aiken" wasn't automatically "Clay Aiken does charity work", though. Not that it isn't appreciated, and definitely APOLOGY ACCEPTED, but how about it's wrong to take cheap shots at someone simply because it's WRONG, and not because the guy you were making fun of went to Uganda last year.
I also realize that I don't know exactly what "jokes" were made at his expense, since I don't see any other articles about him here. I can guess what they were in reference to, because that's ALWAYS what "cheap shots" are in reference to...but if I'm wrong, then I apologize.

CLAY AIKEN IS NOT A CELEBRITY THAT TALKS THE TALK BUT, IS AFRAID TO WALK THE WALK! MANY STARS HAVE GONE OUT TO PROVE THEY ARE HELPING, THE ONLY DIFFERENCE IS, THAT THEY TAKE A FULL CAMERA CREW! THAT TO ME , MAKES IT CLEAR TO ME IT IS MORE FOR PUBLICITY THAN FEELING, CLAY WENT, NO CAMERAS ROLLING, NO INTERVEIWS WITH FAMOUS NEWS MEDIA, HE WENT ALONE AND STILL FIGHTS FOR THE LESS FORTUNATE, BECAUSE HE CARES, AND THAT MY FRIEND, IS THE PERSON HE SHOULD BE KNOWN FOR! IT'S ABOUT TIME HE IS SEEN IN A NEW LIGHT & RESPECTED INSTEAD OF BEING THE BUTT OF A JOKE! HE HAS RELIGIOUS BELIEFS HE STAYS TRUE TO, AND TRUE FRIENDS & FAMILY THAT ARE REAL, NOT,OUT TO GET A PIECE OF HIM! THEY CARE, WE THE FANS CARE, AND BY THE WAY HIS VOICE IS GREAT!!!!

Thanks for the information on Clay Aiken. Recently I read an interview about another singer/entertainer, who is a megastar. He told of his drug use (without being asked),.. and when I heard his new single, which is trash I had to shake my head. What in the world has happened to make that right, and being a decent human being.... and a great singer to boot the object of ridicule? Looking forward to Clay's new single, and hoping against hope that this time he will get the airplay he deserves.

I have always defended Clay to anyone who made a remark about him, but then I said "Ya know what???? WHAT-EVERRRR....I know the good things he's doing." I know his voice makes me feel like I'm floating in the air. What else could be better?
His fans knew he was something special from the moment he opened his mouth 3 years ago!!!!

This was a beautiful write-up. Thank you for the apology and follow-up. It's amazing how much Clay has given to so many worthwhile and necessary causes. His beautiful heart may even be bigger than his beautiful voice! His talent knows no bounds, nor does his belief in and desire to help where help is needed.
Thank you again.

Thank you so much for this. It's truly heartwarming to see someone step up and try to right a wrong.
I like that there is so much more that isn't trumpeted in the press....that he does under the radar, b/c he doesn't want the event to be about him. We end up hearing about it on the boards, but it is rarely reported.
I don't mind that he doesn't always get attention for all the good he does; it's also good to know that he doesn't seek it out.
But, to ignore it all and make him a punchline is a very different matter.
I hope more people will come to appreciate the good that he does.

Thank you for giving Clay Aiken his due. I feel sorry for him because in spite of his goodness, others don't give him what he truly deserves. Why can’t they accept the fact that he stands for decency in the entertainment industry because he is an excellent performer with a wonderful glorious voice and an awesome role model. One reason I could think of is, he is a threat to others because of his swift stardom. His fans are embracing and supporting him faithfully because he deserves the best. We will never fall to the wrong track in following Clay, and his enemies will never succeed ruining his reputation. Clay will overcome all evil intentions against him, because we refuse to give up on his behalf. Go Clay!!!
